Airport car parks agree public transport contributions
30.06.11
Two airport car parks that won planning appeals against Leeds City Council last month are to pay £127,000 in public transport contributions. Both car parks were given the go-ahead after successful appeals to a planning inspector, subject to Section 106 agreements on contributions to help pay for public transport to the airport.
The Sentinel car park will pay £91,000 and a new car park to be operated by Learmouth Property will pay £36,000. Sentinel is already a successful business and applied for permission to increase its size. Learmouth will open an off-site airport car park on the former Avro site on the Leeds Bradford Industrial Estate. The new car park will provide 643 spaces.
