Airport drop off fee signs problem
25.06.11
Leeds Bradford Airport broke planning rules when they installed road signs to tell drivers about their new car park drop-off charges, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports. The airport failed to seek or obtain planning permission before erecting signs on White House Lane telling drivers about the minimum £2 airport parking fee. The signs also breach guidelines on style, content and letter size, and may also have been put up in the wrong places.
The airport has been ordered to replace the signs. A council spokesman told the newspaper: ‘The new signs on White House Lane alerting passengers to the new pick-up and drop-off charges do not meet national road sign guidelines. We have spoken to the airport and will ensure they resolve the matter as quickly as possible.’
