Jet2 flight emergency
23.09.10
A Jet2 plane was forced to circle when its wing flaps failed to release, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports. The aircraft was forced to fly around Leeds Bradford Airport for 15 minutes yesterday.
The pilot eventually got the flaps, which help the plane to slow down on landing, to activate and landed safely shortly before 15:30. Fire crews from Rawdon station were on site in case the aircraft overshot the runway.
A Jet2 spokesman said: ‘The flight crew were alerted by a warning light and the airport was advised prior to landing. As is standard policy in these situations, emergency services were present as a precaution. The aircraft landed safely, without incident.’
