Passengers snub big airports for local convenience
22.07.08
Leeds Bradford Airport based budget airline Jet2's holiday branch Jet2holidays, says that holidaymakers are turning their backs on bigger airports such as Heathrow and Gatwick in favour of a better experience at local airports, which offer faster, cheaper and more convenient travel.
With the promise of reduced queuing times and hassle-free travel from their doorsteps, many more people are utilising Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle, Belfast, Blackpool and Edinburgh airports, the holiday company reports.
Mandy Round, General Manager of Jet2holidays, said: ‘Regional airports are not just easier to get to, they have better and cheaper parking and far fewer queues, meaning the time spent checking in and getting through security is a breeze. The whole experience is far removed from the chaos we’ve seen at the likes of Heathrow’s Terminal 5.
‘Our advice to holidaymakers is book from your local airport – it will be a far better experience and probably cheaper too.’
