Flybe announce Gatwick flights
20.04.09
Flights between Leeds Bradford Airport and London are to be resumed, after Flybe announced today that it is to launch flights to Gatwick. The news comes after bmi axed its daily flights between Leeds Bradford and Heathrow at the end of last month, saying they were not viable.
Announcing the new route, Flybe said that it will reconnect West Yorkshire passengers with the capital. However, the flights will operate to Gatwick, where the airline has an airport lounge, rather than Heathrow. Sandy Needham, chief executive of Bradford Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the move, but doubted whether Gatwick would suit business flyers as much as the previous Heathrow flights.
