Poor road and rail links hit Leeds Bradford

Yorkshire businessmen are choosing to travel further and fly from Manchester because the roads around Leeds Bradford Airport are so congested, according to new research. Almost two-thirds of businesses in Yorkshire consider road congestion a 'significant problem' for the airport, the research reveals.
The research, from the Federation of Small Businesses, found a third of those surveyed prefer flying from Manchester even though it is up to three times further away than Leeds Bradford. Congestion on the roads around the airport and the lack of a rail link were the main reasons for the choice, with Manchester Airport helped by direct trains from Yorkshire stations.
