Lecturer cleared over bomb 'joke'

A university lecturer who joked about having a bomb in his luggage when checking in at Leeds Bradford Airport was cleared of charges by a court on Friday. Greek national Efthymios Zagorianakos said he was trying make the check-in clerk at the KLM business class desk smile.
The 40-year-old denied a charge of communicating false information with intent. A jury at Leeds Crown Court took 2 hours and 46 minutes to find him not guilty. Mr Zagorianakos, of Hawkshead Way, Bradford, a lecturer in geography and environmental management at Bradford University, thanked the jury.
