Significant expansion planned for Jet2holidays

Jet2holidays, the holiday arm of budget airline Jet2, will offer a significantly expanded range of packages next year, backed by television adverts emphasising that its holidays are Atol-protected. A 5 week TV campaign with the slogan ‘Package holidays you can trust’ will launch across north of England and Scotland in mid-September on ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.
Overall capacity on Jet2 will remain in line with this year, but it will offer a bigger proportion of seats as part of packages. Jet2 will fly about 1.75m passengers this year, with just over 100,000 on packages with holiday arm Jet2holidays. There will be a ‘significant’ increase in the package proportion for summer 2011. The company declined to give a figure, but it is expected to be around twice the 2010 figure.
Jet2holidays managing director Steve Heapy said: ’We expect something of a renaissance in tour operating. Consumers and agents are looking for safer options.’
