Security fail to notice passenger has packed her kitten
09.10.08
A woman who flew from Leeds Bradford Airport to Amsterdam 'rubbed her eyes in disbelief ' when her kitten jumped out of her suitcase as she unpacked. The airport is investigating why the stowaway was not spotted by security scanners.
Beauty secretly crept in to Helen Wilmore's suitcase as she packed for a short break in the Dutch capital. The 3 month old kitten then endured 21 hours stuck inside the case after the flight was delayed. Mrs Wilmore, 36, from Bradford, said: ‘I can't believe she survived. She was hot and sweaty but other than that she was fine.’
However, she was forced to take Beauty to Dutch quarantine and may give her to a Dutch sanctuary as she cannot afford to bring her home. Leeds Bradford Airport is probing why its scanners did not detect the cat.
