Plane problem closes runway

A pilot and co-pilot were rescued from an executive jet after its engine caught fire and it overshot the runway at Leeds Bradford airport last night. The Cannes-bound Cessna Citation came off the runway at about 17:50 after aborting take off.
Flights were suspended for just over two hours, but resumed at 20:00. A West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesman said there was a fire in one of the plane's engines. The two men were not injured. The incident is being investigated.
