Jet2 wants to bring more Germans to Leeds Bradford

Leeds Bradford Airport based airline Jet2 has teamed up with Yorkshire Tourist Board to launch a marketing campaign aimed at attracting more German visitors to the county. The move comes after the low cost carrier launched new flights from the hub to Hamburg last week, one of eight new routes it will launch from Leeds Bradford this month.
Regional development agency Yorkshire Forward is funding the campaign, timed to coincide with the launch of the route between Hamburg / Lübeck and Leeds Bradford. Around £400,000 is being spent on an advertising campaign promote Yorkshire to Germans as an ideal destination for holidays and short breaks.
Jet2 boss Philip Meeson said: ‘We are very excited about this direct service from Germany into Leeds Bradford. It has been proved through our Düsseldorf route that German travellers are keen to visit Yorkshire. We know there are at least 4.5m people within Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein who will help make this route a continued success.’
