Flybe celebrate Yorkshire day
04.08.10
Flybe surprised passengers on its first arrival into Leeds Bradford Airport on Yorkshire Day (August 1) by presenting them with white roses - grown in Pickering in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside. The first passenger to disembark the flight from Southampton, Leeds resident Merissa Hargeaves, was presented with a bouquet.
Other passengers received single stems of the Polar Star flowers, chosen as an acceptable alternative to the traditional white Yorkshire rose, Alba Maxima, which sadly is not in bloom at this time of the year. Leeds Bradford Airport also arranged for passengers to also receive samples of Yorkshire Tea !
